Conversion and Tracking Code placement

Suppose we have a website having Google Analytics code installed.
Now if we would like to run an optimizer test.
Where should the conversion and tracking scripts be placed?

I was thinking the GA code would go just before the </BODY> tag and the other scripts can go below the </HTML>

Google help document says to place the conversion code just before the </BODY> tag. But this is the exact preferred location for the GA code as well.
