Introducing Custom Columns to AdWords Reporting

Ever wish you could create an AdWords column that let’s you see the metrics you care about most? Starting today, you can. Google introducing custom columns to AdWords reporting, an easy way to create and view segmented columns for the metrics you want to see. By selecting an existing metric like clicks or conversions, and applying a segment like ‘Computers’ or ‘Mobile’, you can quickly create a new custom column that shows you ‘Computer clicks’ or ‘Mobile conversions.’ Custom columns can be added to any campaign or ad group report. And you can sort, filter, and download them to instantly visualize and take action on your segmented metrics.

You can use custom columns to help you keep a close eye on the metrics you monitor in your accounts. For example, we’ve talked in the past about the importance of being on the top of the page on mobile devices to capture that prime real estate []. With custom columns you can immediately view average position on mobile devices and modify your bids where you aren’t in the top two results.

Across all of the best practices you’re implementing in your account, establish the right metrics to track, then add those customized metrics to your reports.
