How Google's New Mobile First Index Will Effect Site Ranking

Google's "mobile first"- index, although has not been fully implemented, yet it's already effecting the SERP. So, will the change in crawling significantly impact rankings? However, its not sure yet, but certainly, if your site isn’t friendly to a mobile audience, you shouldn’t expect it to rank well for certain keywords.
