It has always been hard to understand whether google indexes flash content, if they do how they do it. In my daily dosage of web browsing i came acroos a site http://www.flashnseo.com where the site ansers to numerous questions like How Google index text embedded in Adobe Flash?, Can Google index external content loaded in Adobe Flash?, Does Google follow links embedded in Adobe Flash?, Can Google index Flash created with JavaScript Object?, Can Google index imported swf files?

The experiments carried out in the site are praiseworthy. It really does throw some light on how to use content in flash, and how search engines access content.

Further to this i had looked into displaying wordpress posts via flash  . I came across this site where wordpress posts were displayed inside flash http://tvwonline.net/ i even searched some of the post content in google to see if google does pick it up. It does and displays it in the description but url is always the domain name. Would have loved to get my hands on the process involved in getting this done alas its not free :( http://tvwonline.net/lab/flashWordpressTemplate/

Very intersting post PG. I know it can pick some content up but many of us question whether it will display ahead of HTML websites for more competitive keywords.

I look at it this way, how many flash sites do you see that are rich in content ?
Not many

People use Flash for it's stunning visual appeal

A site fully developed in flash for SEO, still gets the big thumbs down from me

I think flash is a developing technology that has come light years in just a year.

I love the innovation side of things that we are seeing as well with the use of flash.

I do think that unless their is a direct flash requirement it is still best to have flash embedded within HTML. Also it is a huge downside in your example that there is not a unqiue URL name.

Nice research though PG!

Adobe Launched New Site (Search engine Optimization Technology Center) to Help with FlashSEO. Following are some interesting articles from it.

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer ... ility.html
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer ... tocol.html

In future we may optimize the flash sites as we do now for html sites ;-)
