Very interesting indeed.... i have been facing the problem yesterday. There are some interesting facts to learn from this.
a.) Worldcup still remains most anticipated and talked about event and would continue to be as long as football exists. On a short note, for the last world cup fifa website crashed umpteen number of times but this time around there has not been any official posing to this regard.
b.) For Facebook i haven't experienced any issues and it has been fast as ever... mind you it allows to post wall posts with images, videos & pics... so at least for the moment they are well prepared for a large scale event like worldcup.
c.) Bottomline we should feel for twitter. It would have never expected to grow so large and fast like this... am sure they would have a better load balancing platform setup. But considering that a single event like worldcup can bring a might social network to its knees is astounding.
