Facebook Beats Google As The Most Visited Site

Not the first instance for Google to have achieved this feat. It recently achieved the no. 1 position during Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day last year. And this year, it was the no. 1 for the most visited site on March 6 and 7. With this facebook.com market share of visits increased by 185% last weeks as compared to the same week last year. weekly market share of visits for facebook.com and google.com

With Facebook trending way up in terms of traffic definitely its going to be a favourite social site for both individuals and businesses.

The traffic statistics resembles that there is huge upward trend for all social network sites. One interesting scenario is while facebook, twitter, fixster and linkedin climbs to top positions, orkut, hi5 and classmates are getting down from the prior top rankings. Read more;

More reason for people to start focussing on facebook networking as well as planning a budget for promotion using facebook ads.

Face book's growth around the world has been astonishing and it is now the dominant social network in a number of key markets. And add to the fact that face book's functionality is growing all of the time, and that users are finding community solutions for whatever interest they have.

200 million in April last year and the 400 million last month.
