Nice Share DJ.That post went onto my bookmarks. 
However I would like to add #22 to the 21 tactics discussed in that post and i think its really important and that is -> scheduling a "blog post". Tracking "hot events" [for eg: IE 7 (a nightmare for web desigers)Browser to be obsolete .........] scheduled to take place in the near future and then creating awareness (maybe via social media)through your blog ahead of anyone else would definitely gain you links.
