It's been more than a year since Facebook introduced the "subscribers" feature, letting you follow public updates from people you aren't friends with. Wow. That is huge news really. I agree that subscribers sounds to me more like a payment plan. Followers is now used by LinkedIn as well.

I think this will be a huge hit. Now I just have to understand how it all relates to my own FB account!
