Search Engine Market Share for January 2009

The first month of year 2009 gone and Google continues to run the show. It has increased its lead an inch. Here is the January market share of search engines.

I feel the Darwin theory of "survival of the fittest" is at play. Google has been inching its way to the top leaving all others far behind. It won't be long before others including Yahhoo, MSN, AOL etc become inconsequential players in the Organic Search Market.

MSN's share is down again, and could be a possible reason they're looking at developing their own dedicated search engine instead of the cooperative efforts they've engaged in in a number of countries.
