Search marketing spending will increase 9 percent to $14.7 billion in 2009 from $13.5 billion a year ago in North America, according to a recent survey. The industry would grow at more than twice that rate this year, from $15.7 billion in 2008 to $18.8 billion in 2009. The revised forecasts also predict that the industry will reach $19.8 billion in 2011.
