We did try pinterest.com sometime back, and should say it has grown substantially over the months. As mentioned by SEL its definitely a good resource for SMB's who wants to concentrate on the local market as it combines no follow link juice, virality factor, Photo sharing, bookmarking (pinning) and social shares. Similar to other social media sites getting more and more users to follow your profile is the main factor as every re-pin, like your content gets the more backlinks and viral influence you generate..
Final take - With a growth rate of over 50% its something to look out for in the future since Google is laying more emphasis on the social factor and credible links. But it some extent reminds me of instagr.am but in a more advanced, refined way and more pinterset has a widely supported platforms. Content sharing has been made never more attractive and product/E-commerce oriented sites can best utilize this platform as this has no chat features and is based on pure information sharing and direct messages. Its still in the invite phase now and signing up takes sometime because of the huge waiting list.
