Why do people Google search disabling cookies ?

Here is a discussion that went viral in social networks yesterday. Some Folks say you cannot search google without accepting cookies.

In first place why do you want to google search disabling cookies ? what are you testing here ?

I guess i am missing something here. Perhaps someone could help me out.

When i disable Cookies what features of google search do i miss ? :)
