Okay, this is a touchy topic because I’ve already heard this a thousand times. "Content is King!" But is it? Is having content with rich keywords really important? Is it even necessary to ensure top rankings with SEs? Obviously not based on the following examples.
We all know the "miserable failure" example that brings up George Dubya's Whitehouse profile.
Another example is for the term "click here". Google's results have Adobe's Acrobat Reader on first page. We can no doubt conclude from here that there are millions of links to this page for the term "click here". The page itself has very little content.
MSN has http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download in first position and Adobe's Acrobat in second.
Interestingly, Yahoo's results does not display either apple's Quicktime or Adobe's Acrobat on page one. "click here" in quotation does provide a result of Adobe's Acrobat Download page in first position.
Based on these examples, it would be safe to conclude that links play a much larger role than content. If that is the case, how does our business model cater to this? How do we go about getting links?
I would like to investigate the feasibility of having excellent content written for clients by TechWyse Int and submitted to relevant forums, news groups, and anywhere else that can provide an arena for users to read relevant content with a link back to a relevant website.
