The have been released over on Search Engine Watch, broken down across 10 different Categories.

First impression? Why do people still insist on searching a URL? Are we really still that backward in our internet usage that a majority of users still search a URL in a search engine instead of entering it in to their address bar? And equally frustrating is wondering how many of these users are typing in the search engine URL in to the address bar first, and then searching for their desired site by it's address?

Some of the biggest names being searched by URL include , , , and .

As for my next thought on the results, you can tell that we're in a recessionary period and it's affecting how people shop with the high number of savings-related searches, mostly centred around the words 'coupon' and 'free'. Terms include 'coupons', 'coupons.com' (hey look-a URL search! Sigh...), 'free samples', 'printable coupons', and 'grocery coupons'.

The major media appear to be sticking with the norm, though.

Any thoughts on this month's results?

Wow. Another thing I noticed (or noticed missing).

Anyone else notice which car manufacturer isn't even in the top ten for automotive?

Could be the older folks searching with url.

I seen it happen with the mother in law.
When she goes to check her email, she enters http://www.hotmail.com in the google search bar :D

Doesn't realize she can enter it in the address bar. It works for her, so she doesn't think anything of it
