Online Ad Spends Set to Rise - SEO Companies to Gain.

According to a research study carried out by IDC, a global research company, online advertisement expenditure is slated to reach $65.2 billion in 2008 and soar past $106 billion in 2011.

As per IDC’s “Digital Marketplace Model and Forecast” report, current internet advertising represents 10% of total media spending. And with the growth expected to touch a robust 15- 20% annually over the next three years, share of online spending will soon touch 13.6 % by 2011.

Their findings further state that keyword ads would corner one third of all online ad spends between 2007 and 2011. This will be followed by display ads with 20% closely followed by classified ads with 19 %.

The United States is expected to lead the way with the online ad spend likely to touch the $45 billion mark by 2011. The most popular online ad expenditure categories will continue to be adult content, gambling, information, electronics, and computing receiving $5 billion in worldwide ad expenditure over the next three years.

It is expected that soon online advertising space is likely to become more crowded, competitive and expensive. There will also be a surge in demand by the business community to adopt search engine optimization techniques.

Internet marketing companies specializing in SEO will soon be flooded with enquiries from clients asking for SEO services. The survey has painted a rosy picture regarding the future prospects of SEO companies everywhere, but more especially in North America
