A constant debate is going on on the merits and demerits of online advertsing and offline advertsing. Many "real world" businesses promote their services or products through online advertising because they realize that the best way to communicate their message and convert leads into sales is via a website. In the primordial stages of online advertising companies especially fortune companies alloted a little percentage of their total advertising budget to search marketing. But statistics vindicates that advertising dollars spent for online ads by these segments are rapidly increasing year by year.

You are so right Asha, on the functional level. But people spend more time "offline" than being "online" which means offline advertising has it's own merits, especially when it comes to create a brand awareness and brand image. Both these forms of advertising will compliment each other.

But yes, online advertisement is more efficient.

Online is definitely efficient when all is working, but even members of the tech generation want things like personal service, a voice or person to speak with, or a local store they can visit for whatever reason.

Each form has it's own advantages. The rub is making sure that your business suits the form of advertising that you have chosen to concentrate on.
