Thanks to the SMM team at INTL for finding this:

"For years, the topic of allowing multiple accounts to manage a Google Place listing has been a hot and often requested feature.
The issue comes up often where someone claimed a listing but needs to transfer or also delegate permission for someone else to manage a business listing within Google Maps / Google Places.
Well, it might be coming soon - maybe? "

Hopefully this will be a reality soon, I think Chris would like this a lot!

This would be helpful in some cases. Of course, it's also good from our perspective for us to "own" client Places listings, but ultimately I hope this change does occur.

As a quick aside, it is assumed that anyone who would read this knows that Google Places only allows one listing per phone number. While you can in fact create multiple listings with the same number and reap the benefit for a short time, eventually you'll find that all of your listings have disappeared into the void.
Don't play games with Google Places. It isn't worth the time and effort it takes to undo the damage should you cross the dozens of arbitrary, invisible boundaries that Google has in place to try to make the entire process "fair" for every business.
