Very interesting article on the Harvard Business Review about user engagement and user experience. Often these are thought of as much the same thing, but in many ways they aren't. Pretty short read too.

Engagement was the one most agreed upon word for customer retention.

Seems that Re-Engage is the futuristic and current word to retain customers. Content, Visibility & Usability are some of the features to create re-engagement, re-marketing and create an addiction among readers for a brand recall which can ultimately create a need to purchase a product.

In short, it is time that we create a devotion for a website / mobile site - products, services, etc ( may be make it an EyeCandy Website - both content and design). This can go a long way in sharing (in Social Media Networks) and word of mouth recommendation.

Images are more powerful these days, especially with mobile use being on the rise for browsing and less patience to read an elaborate content. A good image can stop a viewer and make them read the content and then stay back for more and come back for more.
