Google is now letting advertisers to promote their video content via Google adwords. that any advertiser with video content in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands can do this today.
This feature paves a new avenue for video content owners to get across their intended audience.

I've still not seen them yet here in Canada, even though they are supposed to be available. And the search term the YouTube guy tells us to use doesn't show his video. Grrr.

Would love to try them out for a client, just need one who uses video as a selling tool on YouTube.

Would love to look at the video and the statistics. I have read that video ads convert better than text ads, I wonder if it is related to a niche, and also what kind of a difference (in %) that would be.

I wouldn't be surprised if they convert better because the presentation down the right looks like another video list or channel, meaning people are more willing to click.

And calling them "promoted videos" steers away from a paid advertisement feel to the name...
