WordPress 3.0 has just arrived on the scene — the thirteenth major release of the popular blogging software. It’s the result of six months of work from a total of 218 different contributors. You can download it now or upgrade from within your dashboard.Major new features in this release include a sexy new default theme called Twenty Ten, There are some awesome features waiting.. Custom background support, WordPress and WPMU (WordPress MultiUser) are merging their codebases, new post type called ‘Portfolio’, Easy Menu Management etc etc..

Wordpress 3.0 is blog-cum- CMS and liked the feature "Custom Post Types" and "Easy Menu Management". Why wait without installing it.

They had also release a maintenance release now 3.3.1 which has some security issues fixed. Download link is available http://wordpress.org/download/

Wordpress has released their version 3.4. They had it named "Green" in honor of guitarist "Grant Green".

This release includes improvements to theme customization, custom headers, Twitter embeds, image captions, performance improvements, etc

Many issues were fixed including the following:

- Fix some issues with older browsers in the administration area.
- Fix an issue where a theme may not preview correctly, or its screenshot may not be displayed.
- Improve plugin compatibility with the visual editor.
- Address pagination problems with some category permalink structures.
- Avoid errors with both oEmbed providers and trackbacks.
- Prevent improperly sized header images from being uploaded.
