Nick's post is good.

I also love going green when writing content. Not that I am lazy, but because I think that this is the best way to reach lots of potential audience.

While Nick spoke about
Article Directories
Doc Sharing Sites
Newsletters

I have a few other ways to share. Some I use often and others are on my To Do list.
Submit to Tip Directories (Break your article up into tips and submit it to them)
Create widgets
Create executables and distribute
Convert to eBook and use as a bait for signup (DOWNLOAD FREE Report which shows how to GET TONs of Visitors)
Create a Video (I usually prepare a slideshow and generate a video)
Convert to a podcast and submit to podcast directories

One more thing I do is rewrite parts of it. Run it through DupeFREE so that it is less than 30% dupe. Then I use the dupe versions to create a horseshoe shaped link wheel.

Just a question.

As we update the blog and change some areas of existing content with new ones, does it affect the page ranking or what are the things we can expect to happen?

I am inclined to believe that once we change the content and google spiders revisit our website they will reevaluate our page for determining how relevant the content is for the mentioned topic.

Here are a few things I found:
If you change the content - then sometimes your website loses its position in the search engine. There is the google dance or google re-evaluting your content.

Any changes to the content, title, alt tags, image names, H tags - will have a positive or negative impact on our rankings (based on how we perform these tasks)

This is one of the major reasons why 99% of our websites have shown jaw dropping results after clearing Onpage optimization. Simple things have a great impact.

So yes, if you change the content make sure
1) it is relevant to your website and / keyword
2) does not exceed the keyword density (2% - 4%)
3) Use LSI keywords - This was one I ignored till I experienced some mind blowing results. Just adding LSI keywords, I got first page rankings for a 3 page website, shabbily put up. LSI keywords are similar words (for eg: car is similar to maruti, honda etc - all are cars)

While talking about effective Blog post recycling , I think there a many methods to acheive this goal.

What about the older posts in our blog , how we reclycle older and newer content on blog post effectively?

So here, I like to bring your attention about "Content sliders", Content sliders are ideal for blog recycling and there are many free sliders(For eg: and ) available for you to use on your blog. These sliders can be custom configured by the user extensively. By a routine changes of the content in the slider, post readers get a view to many more of the useful, but potentially forgotten posts on your blog.

I like to know about how google will treat these content sliders ?

Unni, thats a great insight. Content sliders are definitely helpful in making older blog posts visible. This is not content recycling though... but I guess there is no fine line...

Anyways, I think if we use content sliders, we could rewrite the teasers so that they are not a copy of the post we have. We are already using this technique very well in our teasers on Gpablo, newsletters and on our blog.

But yes, if a client wants it, it's actually a very good idea (mostly for authoritative sites). By authoritative sites I mean those sites whose intention is to provide information(not to actually sell stuff). For eg: Techwyse blog . We happen to sell our services via the blog, but our actual goal is to establish ourselves as an authority.
