Poor web design methods to be skipped

I thought of sharing a few tips that I feel worth as far as internet marketing viewpoint of website designing is concerned.
The following tips will help stay away from poor web design methods as you will lose credibility with your audience.

1. Counters for visitors - not only do they often not work, everyone knows you can manipulate them and why would someone be interested to know how many people have visited your site? Keep that information for your advertisers and not for the public.
2. Horizontal lines- which are so yesterday they are almost part of the future again.
3. Frame pages - not only can CSS styles do the trick nowadays, frame pages count under poor web design methods because many user browsers don’t support frames and search bots hate them.

for some reason people still think they're cool.

I always tell people, especially if they are just starting out, that do they really want to
tell the whole world, that they're web site is so unpopular that only 10 visitors came ?

Plus it just makes their site look outdated, and who wants that!
