This is a great article! It raises some excellent points.
I've learned that lasting logos should always be simplistic and avoid the use of gradients. However, I recently read an article that demonstrated how the use of gradients is changing now that logos are less frequently being printed and more often being represented on high definition monitors. For website or app based companies, this couldn't be more true.
Companies that have taken this into account have created some beautiful logos.
